HVAC Repair & Installation in Simpsonville, SC
Your Trusted Residential HVAC Company in Upstate South Carolina
Rhino HVAC is a small crew, and that’s on purpose. Whoever answers your call is one of the people who’ll be standing in your hallway. Every job stays in house. Nothing goes to a subcontractor, not a one-part AC repair and not a full system swap. So if something acts up six months later, you already know who to call. And they already know your system.
Your house gets treated the way we’d want ours treated. Shoe covers at the door. Drop cloths wherever the tools come out. Floors vacuumed before anyone leaves. Paperwork moves the same day. Estimates and invoices come by email, with photos of what we found and what we changed. You’ll see your own attic unit without ever climbing up there. Send a message and you’ll hear back in about an hour. Call at two in the morning and a person picks up.

Maintenance Plan
Twice-a-Year HVAC Maintenance for Simpsonville Homes
Most breakdowns start small. A capacitor is the part that gets your outdoor unit spinning. A weak one limps along for months before it finally quits. Same story with a drain line that’s slowly clogging.
Our maintenance plan puts a technician at your system twice a year: once before summer, once before winter. Membership runs $26.95 a month per system. A two-system house pays for two.
What members get:
- Two maintenance visits a year, one for cooling and one for heating
- 10% off eligible service work
- $300 off a complete system replacement
- Priority scheduling when the calendar fills up
- Service call fees waived on eligible visits
- After-hours emergency access

The cooling visit is real work, not a look and a wave. We open up the outdoor unit and clean it properly. Capacitor and contactor get tested. Pressures get read.
Inside, the drain line gets cleared and the pan gets treated. Safety controls and the thermostat get checked before we leave.
Winter is a different system, so the heating visit looks at different parts. Flame sensor cleaning. Gas pressure checks. Safety testing, then a full run of the furnace before the first cold night.
The Licenses and Training Behind Rhino HVAC
Talk is cheap in this trade. Here’s what’s on file.
Rhino HVAC holds South Carolina residential HVAC contractor license RBH.39040, through the South Carolina Residential Builders Commission. We’re licensed, bonded, and insured, and accredited by the Better Business Bureau. That’s the floor, though, not the ceiling.
The one that changes what happens at your house is EPA 608 Universal. Federal law requires it before anyone touches refrigerant. Universal is the top level, covering Type I, Type II, and Type III appliances instead of one slice.
Behind the license sits an HVACR Career Diploma: heating, cooling, refrigeration, wiring, diagnostics, repair. That’s the difference between knowing a part failed and knowing why. A part that burns out twice in one summer is telling you something.
The warranty follows the same thinking. Every install carries a one-year labor warranty from us. Registered Lennox systems typically carry a ten-year parts warranty from the maker, subject to the equipment and their terms. We file that registration the day of the install, because skipping it quietly drops coverage to five years.
Lennox is what we install. Repair and service covers all major brands, so an older unit from another maker isn’t a problem.
All of it points the same direction. A system past saving gets a full air conditioning replacement, sized for the house rather than the old box. One on twice-yearly AC and furnace maintenance usually gives warning before it quits.
And when cooling dies mid heat spike, same-day emergency AC repair is there as the schedule allows.
Every AC and heating job here meets the same standard, from one capacitor to a full changeout.

James & Connor were excellent! I appreciated how thorough they were with the service and resolution of my issue. They also took the time to educate me on our systems. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a great HVAC team.
Very professional installation of replacement HVAC.
Phenomenal company. Very professional and respectful. Highly recommend for all your HVAC needs
I had two units serviced for the summer. The team was friendly, did great work, and weren’t pushy at all. I would recommend working with them in the future.
I am extremely satisfied with the work completed by Rhino HVAC. Parker and Ronnie are very knowledgeable in the field, and they took the time to answer all of my questions. Outstandingly job, extremely thorough, and very friendly as well. My wife and I highly recommend them.
I called at 7 am and they were here by 11 am. James was so incredibly thorough and great about explaining every step to me. He wanted to make sure everything was working properly before he left and went above and beyond to make sure I didn’t have the same problem again. I highly recommend!
Very through on every service visit. Contact you right away when issues arise.
AC wasn’t cooling and I also found multiple gallons of water just sitting inside one of my AC ducts. I went on facebook and noticed multiple people referring Rhino HVAC, so I decided to give them a call. They were able to come out the next day, evacuate the water, diagnose, and repair my AC system. Connor and James were fantastic and I can’t recommend them enough!
James and Connor did a phenomenal job today. Very insightful and did great work. Would highly recommend there services to anyone.
James was awesome. HIGHLY recommend rhino!
Jame is a wonderful person, he helped me save a lot of money by identifying the problem with my AC and fixing it-even though another company had told me I needed to replace the unit entirely, which would have been very expensive.
Very professional and knowledgeable team.
James, Connor, and Ronnie have all been great to work with! They are very responsive, extremely thorough, and take the time to answer any questions. James and Connor provided me with in-depth simple suggestions on dealing with indoor humidity levels. They even completed our annual maintenance in the pouring rain. Highly recommend and will continue to be customers for annual maintenance.
James did a great job. He was very thorough in describing the problem and got it fixed ASAP. I really appreciate Rhino getting to our airbnb super fast.
Rhino HVAC was excellent! James and Connor arrived on time, were honest, and quickly fixed my HVAC issue. I called them after I felt like another company was being dishonest with me, and I’m so glad I did. They were professional, straightforward, and made the whole experience stress-free. I highly recommend Rhino HVAC and I plan to use them in the future!
Rhino HVAC came highly recommended from lots of our neighbors. Very responsive, came out quickly and diagnosed and corrected the issue within 30 minutes. Definitely recommend 100%!
Our house HVAC system not been serviced in too long of time I'm embarrassed to say. Rhino HVAC was friendly, informative and prompt with sending a tech to our house for service. Our tech James went through the whole system thoroughly, patiently and was completely knowledgeable. And he did it with a sincere and friendly customer service attitude. He showed us a few mandatory points of how we can keep things in good condition in between services such as timing of replacing filters, keeping the condensers clear enough from our garden growth and more. He also pointed out the 100% need for a kill switch to our unit in the attic to prevent any flooding damage that would occur if our unit had a water issue-A small cost to prevent a major one! We have "found" our HVAC go to. I highly recommend Rhino HVAC.
Ronnie was great! Our A\C went out and he was here in 20 minutes. He found the issue right away and we are all cooling back down now! Highly recommend Rhino HVAC!
Outstanding service! James diagnosed the problem quickly and repairs were very reasonable. We signed up for a service contract and they did a full inspection and cleaning on the spot. I would recommend without hesitation.
I am so thankful for Ronnie and James! They came out quickly and figured out the source of the problem. They also provided education regarding yearly maintenance on the unit. First time home owner, I never would have known! They are truly the best and so kind! They will be my go to HVAC guys!!
Rhino hvac were so quick at scheduling the first inspection even tho I wasn’t an established customer, and helped find the problem and adjust my system even when multiple visits were needed. Thank you!
My mom needed her AC looked at and these guys were recommended on a local Facebook page. She called, they answered right away and were at her house same day to take a look! They were back the next day to get a new unit installed. They were prompt and courteous. They kept everything neat, tidy, and clean the whole time they were there. They explained everything through out the process and worked extremely hard to get her up and running. My mom had nothing but good things to say about them and will highly recommend. Key takeaways: Respectful, reliable, courteous, clean, great to work with. Thank you guys for taking care of my mom!
Ronnie gives the kind of service and honest answers you’d expect from an experienced HVAC guy. After nearly being hustled into buying a whole new HVAC by one of those “local” private equity companies, I contacted Ronnie. Ronnie was helpful and took the time to talk through everything. Very knowledgeable, friendly. He’s honest without having to tell you he’s an honest guy. Highly recommend.
We found Ronnie through reading some great reviews and are blown away by how hard working, thorough and knowledgeable he is! He came out and worked his butt off and did such a great job. It is so nice to finally find a trustworthy company for our home. We are so happy to have found him and signed up with his service right away after seeing what an amazing job he did.
Ronnie was on time and took care of the maintenance , and was able have both units ready for the summer . Thanks Buddy.... Have a great week
Based on over one hundred five star reviews, we decided to give Rhino HVAC a call. Ronnie arrived in less than thirty minutes and was able to quickly diagnose the issue. We have experienced ongoing problems with our HVAC for years and Rhino HVAC is the first company that was able to provide real solutions. Ronnie is incredibly knowledgeable. He was professional in articulating his findings and presenting options to resolve the issue. I highly recommend Rhino HVAC to anyone in the upstate that is experiencing issues with their AC. If you are looking for someone to get the job done, do it right, and all for a fair price, don’t think twice.
Called Ronnie up and came rt out to look at ac unit, had it fixed in no time.Highly recommend his service. Thanks again Ronnie!Mike Lee.
Very professional service came in see the issue fixed and hand me back with air within a few minutes! If anyone needs any ac this is the place to call!
Ronnie was great! Very professional and explained everything about the system so even we could understand it. Would recommend Rhino to anyone who needs services on their hvac systems. We will be using Rhino for our services from now on.
Rhino HVAC came highly recommended in a local FB group, by numerous members. When I first called no one answered, and I have anxiety so I just hung up without leaving a message and continued being stressed out…🤷♀️😵💫 I received a call back from Ronnie fifteen minutes later and as he was in the area, was at my house and diagnosing the issue within twenty minutes. I don’t think you can get a quicker response time than that! As a less than experienced homeowner with this kind of stuff, and a solo female, I felt very comfortable with Ronnie in my home, very respectful, cleanly and well presenting-no creepy vibes at all-which is a concern of mine from previous experiences. He was clear about delivering the information he gave me about what he was going to do initially, and after assessing, clearly communicated what the issue was and a clear quote to fix it. Ronnie continued to be on top of things ordering the part as soon as I gave the go ahead for the job, picking the part up as soon as it was available and on his way to my house as soon as he got it. I felt like a priority with the all consistent communication. After Ronnie fixed my AC(yay!!!)…he also took the time to go under my crawl space and let me know about a potential fire hazard with how my unit was apparently setup before I purchased the home, and gave me a reliable referral to a local electrician who could help with that. Ronnie really went the extra mile with great service and results and I will definitely use Rhino HVAC in the future should I need to. Thanks again, Ronnie for your time and effort!❄️🥶

Our Process
How a Simpsonville Service Call Works, Start to Finish
Call or send a request. Tell us what the system is doing and roughly when it started.
We narrow it down over the phone. You'll find out what's likely going on and what the visit involves.
Your appointment gets set around your day. A heads-up goes out when a technician is on the way, so nobody sits by a window guessing.
The technician diagnoses, explains, and finishes the work. Findings get ranked by what actually matters, and you decide what happens next.
We call about three days later. One short call to confirm the system is still behaving.
The Towns This Crew Covers
We keep the map tight on purpose. A short drive is how the customers we already have keep getting help fast.
- Simpsonville, SC
- Mauldin, SC
- Fountain Inn, SC
- Greenville, SC
- Piedmont, SC
- Greer, SC
- Woodruff, SC
- Duncan, SC
- Easley, SC
- Belton, SC
Coverage runs about 35 minutes in every direction, and the towns inside that radius all get the same crew. Don’t see yours? Call and we’ll tell you straight.
HVAC Built for Simpsonville’s Older and Newer Homes
Simpsonville has grown fast. New subdivisions went up beside neighborhoods that have been here for decades. Out toward Five Forks and Woodland Village, one week can hold both. A brand new install on Monday, a thirty-year-old system on Thursday.
What most of them share is what sits underneath. Crawl space foundations are common across Greenville County, in the new builds as much as the old ones. A crawl space changes how moisture moves through a house, and your ducts run through the middle of it.
The plastic sheeting under the floor tears. Duct seams pull apart. Damp air finds the gap and rides it into your living room.
That’s why sizing matters more here than it would somewhere dry. An air conditioner that’s too big cools the air fast and shuts off too soon. It never runs long enough to pull the damp out. The house ends up cold and clammy at once, and the unit wears itself out years early.
So a Magnolia Acres crawl space gets checked in a set order. Sheeting, duct seams, air flow, then the unit itself.
This is home. Our roots in the area go back to 2005. The crew has been under most kinds of house in this county.
So homes on this side of it get people who already know what to look for. That shows up in what we catch on the first visit.

HVAC Services in Simpsonville, SC Frequently Asked Questions
Does Rhino HVAC offer 24/7 service?
Yes, around the clock. Nights, weekends, holidays. A heat pump that quits at eleven at night in August isn't going to wait until Monday. Same-day visits happen when the schedule allows. Maintenance plan members move to the front of the line.
What areas does Rhino HVAC serve?
Simpsonville is home base. From there the crew covers Mauldin, Fountain Inn, Greenville, Piedmont, Greer, Woodruff, Duncan, Easley, and Belton. Roughly a 35-minute drive in any direction. The short radius is a choice, not a limit. Staying close is how we reach a customer the same week instead of losing an afternoon on the interstate. Near the edge of it? Call and ask.
Does Rhino HVAC work on commercial buildings?
No, homes only. Houses, apartments, anything under sixteen units and three stories. Commercial gear is a different trade, with its own sizing, controls, and code. It's a bit like taking an 18-wheeler to a regular car shop. Staying on home systems keeps the crew sharp on the equipment actually sitting in Upstate houses.
Will a technician try to sell me a new system?
No. Nobody here works to a sales quota, and nobody's pay goes up because a customer bought equipment. That changes what you hear at the end of a visit. If a repair is the smarter spend, that's what we'll tell you, and you'll get the reasoning with it.
Will you look at a replacement quote from another company?
Happy to. Second opinions are ordinary work here, including after somebody else has said the system is finished. Sometimes we agree with them. Sometimes the unit has real life left in it. Either way you get the reasoning behind the answer, not just a verdict.
Does Rhino HVAC service brands other than Lennox?
Yes, all major residential brands. Lennox is what we install most often, so the crew handles that equipment week in and week out. An older system from another brand is still fine to work on.
Is Rhino HVAC licensed and insured?
Yes, and the specifics are worth knowing. South Carolina residential HVAC contractor license RBH.39040, issued through the South Carolina Residential Builders Commission. EPA 608 Universal certification for refrigerant work across all appliance types. Licensed, bonded, and insured, and accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Any contractor should be able to hand you these numbers without hunting for them.
Is there a maintenance plan?
There is. Two visits a year, one before cooling season and one before heating season. Those are two different systems doing two different jobs. Members also get a discount on eligible service work and money off a full replacement. Priority scheduling, waived service call fees, and after-hours access come with it. Billing is monthly, per system.
What warranty comes with the work?
Installs carry a one-year labor warranty from us. Registered Lennox equipment typically carries a ten-year parts warranty from the manufacturer, subject to the equipment and their terms. Registration is easy to forget and expensive to forget. We file it at install rather than leaving it on your to-do list.
Does anyone follow up after the work is done?
We do. About three days after a visit, someone calls to check the system is still running right. It's a short call. Small problems tend to show up in the first few days. Catching one then beats catching it in August.
